Impact

The Destiny Program Corporation works to strengthen health, wellness, and community capacity on and near the Wind River Indian Reservation.

Our impact is reflected not only in participation, but also in the relationships built, skills developed, programs sustained, and opportunities created for youth, adults, and families.

Programs in Action

Our programs bring health and wellness into community settings through youth activities, fitness, nutrition education, chronic disease prevention, food-based learning, and community events.

Through hands-on and relationship-based programming, participants have opportunities to build practical skills, increase confidence, strengthen healthy habits, and connect with others in supportive environments.

Building Community Capacity

Strong programs require more than individual classes or events.

The Destiny Program works to strengthen the local capacity needed to sustain community wellness efforts over time. This includes supporting staff and facilitators, developing partnerships, coordinating programs, maintaining equipment and facilities, improving outreach, collecting program data, and building systems that allow programs to continue beyond individual grants.

By investing in local capacity, we help create stronger and more sustainable opportunities for health and wellness within the community.

Our Growth

Founded in 2015, The Destiny Program began as a grassroots effort to expand access to fitness and physical activity.

Over time, the organization has grown to support a broader range of community wellness efforts, including youth development, sports, nutrition education, chronic disease prevention, heart health, food-based programming, and community partnerships.

As our work continues to grow, we remain committed to developing programs that are locally led, accessible, practical, and responsive to community needs.

Looking Ahead

The Destiny Program continues to strengthen its programs, partnerships, staffing, and organizational infrastructure so that successful community-based efforts can remain sustainable.

Our goal is not simply to deliver programs, but to help build the local systems, relationships, and capacity needed to support healthier communities for generations to come.

    Testimonials

“My name is Thomas E. White Buffalo. Located in Riverton, Wyoming. I am to date 35 years old. Enrolled in the Northern Arapahoe tribe and contain Kiowa, Cheyenne and Pima blood from my dad's side of the family.

I joined this Intertribal Fitness roughly 5 years ago. Not knowing what to expect yet I trusted my coaches with my being. I am beyond thankful for how patient they have been with me in showing me how to physically take care of myself through the art of CrossFit.

From first walking in at almost 350 pounds. Out of shape, avid smoker and a diet that would disappoint many.

Today, happily replacing unwanted pounds with beautiful muscle mass. Currently sitting at 271. Quit tobacco. Participating in 5k's. CF competitions. Ultimately being as active as possible. Counting carbs. Fighting the desire for what the old me wants to indulge in.

I really enjoy what The Destiny Program; Mike Ute and Denyse Ute have done for the community. I've honestly never met most of the people that frequent Intertribal Fitness but am pleased to know they're after a healthier life such as myself. It's quite motivating to see the look on their faces when they achieve something they might have thought was impossible. In the end, we're all in this together and I will continue to assist in strengthening their message.” - Tom WhiteBuffalo

  • Intertribal Fitness has changed my life for the better.

“Intertribal Fitness has changed my life for the better. For most of my life I was overweight, with my heaviest weight being 310. I knew I needed to do something about my health. I hated to run because my body hurt, it was hard to sleep at night, and I was on the verge of being a diabetic. I joined Intertribal Fitness and started to go faithfully. I started to notice the small things at first like: being able to run longer, sleeping better at night, I was more flexible, and I was getting stronger. Now, I am 185 and healthier than I’ve ever been in my life. I can run long distances without problems, I can finally do box jumps, and I sleep like a baby at night. I can’t thank Denyse and Mike enough for all that they do. I couldn’t have been able to do it without them.” - Alyssa Noseep
